School of Cosmetology
Find Your Calling as a Makeup Artist, Hair Stylist, Salon Owner or Cosmetology Instructor
The mission of the School of Cosmetology at Campbellsville University in Kentucky is to provide educational tools and knowledge for students to excel in the cosmetology field so they will possess the confidence and skills to service clients/students and obtain their licenses to be employed in salons, spas, or other avenues of the beauty industry. We strive to offer a balanced academic and personal environment that fosters growth and constant pursuit of knowledge and Christian servant leadership.
Cosmetologists are increasingly in demand, with the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) predicting that the profession will see 12.7 percent growth by 2022. Attending cosmetology school, however, doesn't just prepare students to cut hair — cosmetologists are also adept at skin treatments, styling, manicures, pedicures, and ensuring that their clients feel good about their new look.
There are many career paths for cosmetology graduates as well, with opportunities to become creative stylists for film shoots and fashion shows, salon owners, product developers, or cosmetology teachers. With a healthy client list or an entertainment position, cosmetologists can earn over $50,000 a year. It's a profession that takes a certain personality type, spatial awareness, and a creative bent. For sociable, warm people who love styling hair, there is no better job out there.
